Latest Star Educator Award Recognizes TMIS Science Teacher

Keller ISD proudly celebrates Trinity Meadows Intermediate fifth-grade science teacher JJ Magbuhat as the latest recipient of the Keller ISD Star Educator Award, honored during the November 20 Board Meeting.

Mr. Magbuhat is praised for his exceptional creativity in teaching science. In a standout lesson on force, he converted his classroom into a glow-in-the-dark physics lab where students used fluorescent materials and interactive setups to explore motion and energy. This immersive, hands-on approach captivated students and strengthened their understanding of abstract concepts. Mr. Magbuhat’s innovative methods ignite curiosity, inspire learning, and help students experience science in action.

As part of this honor, he will also receive $500 to invest in additional learning tools for his classroom.

The Keller ISD Star Educator Award celebrates extraordinary educators who inspire curiosity, nurture growth, and make lasting impacts on their students. These are teachers and leaders who engage with energy, build community, and lead with heart – and Mr. Magbuhat is a true testament of that. His creativity, kid-at-heart teaching style, and ability to turn science into hands-on discovery make him a standout educator at TMIS.
